This weekend is jam packed with fights from the Canada, the US and Australia, with cards coming from the UFC, Bellator and XFC.
For those up in Queensland, XFC can be caught in Mansfield on Saturday, August 27th. XFC 27 sees the return of the infamous Julian Wallace, who will face Gustavo Falciroli for the bantamweight title. With nine professional and eight amateur bouts on the card, it’s guaranteed to be an entertaining night for those who can get there.
Bellator has an event on Friday night in the US (midday on Saturday in Australia) where Benson Henderson will go back down to 155 to take on Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire, with a future title shot on the line. Chinzo Machida, the older brother of Lyoto Machida, will make his Bellator debut on the preliminary card. After a lay off of just over two years we’ll have to wait to see if any rust has set in for Machida.
You might have some problems watching Bellator 160 live from Australia, as we do with most fun things, but for those who are interested we will be posting the results once everything has wrapped up.
You can watch the Bellator 160 weigh-ins at the bottom of this page.
On Sunday morning Aussie fans we will be treated to a UFC on Fox: Maia vs. Condit with the prelims set to start around 8am. If that’s too early for you after Saturday night make sure you catch the main card, which starts around 10am. Australia’s Bec Rawlings is facing Paige VanZant in a matchup you wont want to miss.
The featured bout between Demian Maia and Carlos Condit has the potential to be a great fight, though the matchup doesn’t look too favourable for Condit. If the fight goes to the ground Maia will surely have the advantage. Condit sounds confident coming into this one, so we’ll see how his game plan works on Sunday.
